What is an online SQL formatter?

A SQL formatter reorganizes query text into a consistent layout so SELECT lists, joins, conditions, CASE expressions and nested statements are easier to scan. Formatting improves readability but does not prove that a query is valid for a particular database or schema.

PoorSQL-style controls, modern workflow

The advanced panel includes statement and clause breaks, comma expansion, CASE, BETWEEN, IN and JOIN controls, comment preservation, keyword substitutions, obfuscation and legacy randomization options without forcing every setting into the main toolbar.

Supported SQL dialects

Use the dialect selector for Standard SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server / T-SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, MariaDB, DuckDB, ClickHouse, Redshift, Spark SQL and Trino.

Privacy-first sharing

Formatting and settings persistence happen client-side. Share links contain formatting settings only by default. Query text is added to the URL only when you explicitly enable Include SQL.

FAQ

Sql Formatter questions

?Does formatting SQL execute the query?

No. Formatting changes presentation; it does not run the statement against your database.

?Can SQL formatting change query behavior?

A formatter is intended to preserve semantics, but you should still review output when using dialect-specific syntax or unusual extensions.

?Why keep the sql-formater URL spelling?

AiFolder retains the established public slug for compatibility while the visible title uses the standard spelling Formatter.
