Wi-Fi QR Code

A Wi-Fi QR code stores your network settings so guests can connect in seconds. Instead of typing long passwords, they scan and join with a single tap.

How it works

  1. 1. Enter the SSID and choose the security type.
  2. 2. Add the password and mark hidden networks if needed.
  3. 3. Customize the style, download, or share the link.

Use cases

  • Cafes, hotels, and co-working spaces
  • Event check-in desks and workshops
  • Home networks and smart devices

Wi-Fi QR Code FAQs

What is a Wi-Fi QR code?

A Wi-Fi QR code is a scannable code that shares network credentials so guests can connect without typing the SSID and password.

Is it safe to share a Wi-Fi QR code?

It is safe when shared with trusted users. You can keep the password out of share links and print a separate QR for on-site use.

Does it work with hidden networks?

Yes. Enable the hidden option so scanners know the network SSID is hidden.

Which security types are supported?

Most scanners support WPA/WPA2, WEP, and open networks. Choose None for open networks.

Why does the QR code stop working after a password change?

The QR encodes the password. If the password changes, regenerate the QR code with the new credentials.

Will the QR code work with special characters?

Yes. The generator escapes special characters so scanners can decode SSIDs and passwords reliably.

Can I add a logo to a Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. Add a logo and the tool boosts error correction to keep the code scannable.

Why is the Wi-Fi password hidden in share links by default?

For privacy. You can opt in to include the password when sharing the link.

About this tool

What is QR Code Generator?

Create QR codes for URLs, plain text, email, and Wi-Fi details using AiFolder's QR renderer, then use the visual result in supported sharing or download workflows.

How it works

How does a QR code work?

A QR code turns a small payload into a structured grid of light and dark modules. Error-correction data and positioning patterns help a camera recover and decode that payload reliably.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Prepare the payload

The selected QR content type is normalized into the text or structured payload that will be stored in the code.

  2. 2

    Encode the content

The payload is represented as QR data segments and bits, together with the metadata the decoder needs to interpret them.

  3. 3

    Add error correction

Reed–Solomon error-correction codewords add redundancy so some missing, dirty, or damaged modules can be reconstructed.

  4. 4

    Build the QR matrix

Data and error-correction bits are placed around finder, timing, alignment, format, and other required patterns, then a mask is applied.

  5. 5

    Detect and sample

A scanner uses the finder patterns to locate and orient the code, then samples the module grid and reads its format information.

  6. 6

    Recover the payload

The decoder removes the mask, uses error correction when needed, reconstructs the encoded segments, and returns the original content.

What you can do

  • Create QR codes for supported content types
  • Generate codes for URLs, text, email, or Wi-Fi data
  • Preview the QR result before using it

How to use QR Code Generator

  1. 1Choose the QR content type.
  2. 2Enter the URL, text, email, or Wi-Fi details requested by the form.
  3. 3Generate the QR code and test-scan it before publishing or printing.

Examples

Website QR

Input: https://aifolder.co

Result: A scannable QR code encoding the supplied URL.

Tool facts

Supported examples
URL, text, email, Wi-Fi
Output
QR code image/visual
Account required
No

Limitations

  • A generated QR code only encodes the supplied data; it does not verify that a destination URL is safe, permanent, or reachable after the code is printed.

Privacy and data handling

QR content can reveal URLs, email addresses, or Wi-Fi details to anyone who scans the code, so do not place secrets in a QR image intended for public distribution.

FAQ

QR Code Generator FAQs

?Do QR codes created from plain text expire?

A static QR code encodes the supplied data directly and does not expire by itself, although linked destinations can later change or stop working.

?Can I make a Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. The QR renderer supports Wi-Fi details among its content types so compatible scanners can read the encoded network information.

?Should I test a QR code before printing it?

Yes. Scan the final size and image with more than one device when possible, especially before printing many copies or placing it on signage.
